The brief is to demolish and design a new build villa that opens up to the sea. In consideration of the newly built larger and taller massing of flats next door which overlook our site, we began with studies of our site's ground levels with options of partial landfill and rise. The objective is to test the relationship to the neighbouring apartment blocks, and to protect the client's interests and maximise their property's value in consideration of issues such as overlooking and views. This was followed by a massing study. The design concept is to maximise the amount of sea facing views, creation of semi-open spaces and an infinity pool and a villa that opens up and reach out to the sea.
